Midcentury Equestrian Estate
Northern California

In a decades-long process, Scott Lewis Landscape Architecture meticulously restored the curvilinear geometry of a Tommy Church garden within this pastoral horse farm that includes a 1958 Cliff May-inspired courtyard home, a redwood grove, a barn and meadows. The restoration uses innovative plant choices adaptable to California’s decreasing precipitation. Working closely with the architect/client, SLLA updated the hardscape and decks surrounding the house, with an eye towards maintaining the original architectural character.
